Shipping FAQs
Lead times are the estimated time it will take for a product to ship. In many cases with commercial playground equipment, products are manufactured when the order is placed. If the lead time says 8 to 10 weeks, that means it will be 8 to 10 weeks until a product is fully manufactured, crated/palletized, and leaves the warehouse.
At this time we don’t offer expedited shipping. We have found that most freight carriers can’t successfully expedite playground LTL shipments. Unless otherwise specified, all products are shipped based on the estimated lead times on each product page.
All addresses for shipping are typically generated from Google Maps. Occasionally the site will experience issues with calculating shipping due to a less common spelling, an address that is not easily found, or a closed neighborhood that isn’t publicly accessible. If your shipping price isn’t populating, please submit a quote request.
Our playground equipment is shipped via LTL freight carriers, with FTL options available for larger items. Please review our Shipping Policy.
Depending upon what you ordered, you may be required to have the proper equipment to unload your playground. Commercial customers typically have a few days to inventory the delivery and provide any feedback about missing pieces. Prepare to inspect and inventory your delivery promptly. Note any discrepancies or damages on the delivery slip. Please review our Shipping Policy for full detail.
The trucking company will call the phone number given on the order to schedule a delivery. The trucking company only makes deliveries on weekdays during normal business hours. Inside of these parameters, the trucking company should be able to accommodate your delivery schedule. It has been found that requesting the driver to call you when he or she is about 30 minutes from delivering to you makes it possible for you to not have to wait around for delivery. You can request this call when scheduling the delivery appointment.
A PRO number serves as a tracking identifier for your shipment.
The contiguous US, the lower 48, the mainland. Whatever you’d like to call it. Unfortunately, we don’t ship via ship.
Using a freight forwarder will void warranties and make you responsible for shipping damages.
Shade Structure FAQs
Solid fabrics and many other materials trap heat under the shade and don’t allow for cool air circulation. Our fabrics are porous which allows air to pass through keeping it far cooler and more comfortable under a fabric shade structure without requiring as much regular maintenance or treatment.
The most popular fabric is HDPE (High-Density Polyethylene). This fabric generally provides up to 95% shade, 97% UV protection, and approximately 60-70% water run-off, but check the product page for detailed specifications.
These fabrics carry a 10-year limited manufacturer’s warranty from the date of installation against failure from significant fading, deterioration, breakdown, mildew, outdoor heat, cold, or discoloration; this excludes Red and Coolbrella fabrics, which carry a 3-year limited warranty. The life expectancy of our HDPE fabrics is up to 12 years, assuming they are properly maintained. Details are included on the individual product pages.
HDPE fabrics require very little maintenance but should be kept clean to ensure they look bright and attractive throughout their service life. To clean our fabrics, use a power washer or water hose with a light (diluted) detergent. Spray the fabric from the underside, starting at the top or peak, and then work down each side of the structure so the dust and debris will be washed off. If using a power washer, take care not to get the spray head too close to the fabric.
The answer depends on the municipality in which you are planning to have your structure installed. Some cities and counties do require a building permit for shade structures. All of the structures we sell are fully engineered to meet, and in most cases exceed local building code requirements (which you’ll note when you’re requesting a quote). Sealed design engineering sets are available for you to acquire a building permit, but the permitting process is fully your responsibility.
- Our standard shade fabrics are not compliant with the California Division of the State Architect. If you check the California box on the shade page, we can create a quote with a compliant shade for you.
- Our shade structures require concrete piers that must be poured before the shade can be installed. For that reason, shades cannot be installed on decks, docks, or in locations that do not have the depth required for concrete piers.
- Our shade structures must also be freestanding, meaning they cannot be attached to an existing building or structure. Any attempt to do so could result in structural damage and will void the manufacturer's warranty.
- Sealed drawings are professional drawings used by municipalities, licensed architects, and engineers. They are typically required by governing bodies and essentially mean that an engineer has checked over the numbers and is putting his or her “seal” on the drawings, with that engineer taking responsibility for the information provided.
- Unsealed drawings are professional drawings that can be used for planning and construction but are not typically accepted in the permitting process.
Our shade structures are water resistant. They are made with a fabric woven tightly in two different directions allowing the water to roll off the shade. It would have to be extreme rain or heavy snow melt for the water to penetrate the fabrics.
Installation FAQs
Installation comes at an added cost, and we offer it for the larger equipment that we sell. To receive a quote for installation, you will need to request a quote and be sure to check the installation box!
Our installation includes installing the playground equipment that has been purchased from us. Our customers are responsible for completing inventory and reporting any missing items, site preparation, permitting, water and electrical access, and trash/dumpster facilities.
No, but installation must follow manufacturer guidelines to maintain warranties.
If installation is available and purchased for the item(s) on your order, we will schedule the installation after all items have been delivered and inventory has been taken. Installation occurs approximately 2-3 weeks after all items have been delivered and inventoried. You can also view our Terms of Use to learn more about the installation process.
Waterslide FAQs
The cost shown on the waterslide page does not include installation, but that amount can be given to you by requesting a quote on our website. However, the system and installation pricing does not include any plumbing or electrical hardware and services (i.e. water pumps, pipes, and wiring, etc.). Hardware and services are the customer’s responsibility, recommended to be done by a local contractor.
You may be so daring, but please note that installing a water slide voids all warranties and you will only receive high level instructions (“cheat sheet”) for installation. You will also be asked to sign a waiver stating that by installing it yourself, you understand and assume all responsibility for the waterslide and that the warranty will be voided. With that being said, we have had a few customers opt for self-installation.
Got an idea? Want to put your slide on a hill or attach it to an existing structure. Yes, that is something that can be done, but be ready to answer a good bit of questions so we can ensure safety – also, we do need to charge a design fee.
Yes, have a pool with the space? Add a slide!
Residential Wooden Swing Set FAQs
Due to the time it takes to put a swing set together, it is best to order with plenty of time to receive, inspect, and assemble your swing set. Depending upon the complexity of the swing set, installation can vary greatly, but we include assembly instructions on every product page for your convenience! Assembly instructions are easy to follow and all wood is pre-cut and pre-drilled. Occasionally, shipments may have pieces missing or damaged in transit, so having a swing set delivered early also allows time to ship any replacement pieces. While damage or shortage happens infrequently, it is something that does happen.
No, the wooden swing sets are designed for residential home use only. These sets are not intended for public areas such as schools, churches, nurseries, daycares, or parks.
A full list of maintenance instructions is provided in the swing set manual you receive with your swing set. The better you maintain your swing set, the longer it will last. Warranties for swing sets depend upon the manufacturer’s policy.
All large freight items including swing sets and play equipment will be shipped via a freight company, not FedEx. Additionally, all freight items will be shipped via residential curbside delivery, meaning, someone will need to be present at the time of delivery to sign for the package and offload the packages from the truck. Please review our Shipping Policy for full detail.
Yes, you need to be present for the delivery. You will be responsible for checking the product for damage, offloading the swing set, and signing the delivery ticket.
The number of boxes in a swing set depends upon what set you purchase, but it is generally 5-12 boxes and some boxes can be quite heavy. For more information about receiving a swing set, please review our Shipping Policy.
