Percussion PlaySKU: PP-AKAD-GF Ships In: 4 Weeks

Inspired by the traditional xylophone and the largest member of the Ugandan percussion family, the Akadinda is an excellent choice for outdoor musical play.

This enormous, accessible instrument can accommodate up to four players, making it ideal for bringing people together for impromptu performances. It delivers great fun with rich, resilient notes produced by hardwood keys that generate a natural, mellow, low tone tuned to the pentatonic scale in C major (A2-D5). Due to its generous size, the sound carries impressively far!

Traditionally, the base of an Akadinda was constructed from banana stems. In place of banana stems, the frame is crafted from treated timber and is suitable for surface-fix mounting, making installation straightforward in a wide variety of outdoor settings.

The Akadinda is perfect for improvising and experimenting with music while enjoying the fresh air. Its inclusive, multi-player design makes it a standout addition to parks, schools, care homes, and public spaces.
